Budget - Seek NEEDS, what can we AFFORD, less services, combine duplication, slowly contract out services and require these go to Michigan based only employers, then draw a BALANCED budget.

Bold long term programs - ONE to build a new state wide mass transit system and car carrier to not only be a major attraction but also speed up travel, open up travel and tourism, more energy efficient, create construction and long term jobs.  TWO to build our own major oil refinery with a priority to create Michigan construction and operational jobs as well as Michigan first to supply energy.  THIRD to seek out & encourage nuclear and other means of energy creation.

Abortion - against abortion personally - a case of personal choice going bad and inconsistent.  Pro Choice people often don't want PRO CHOICE in school selection.  Less government in our lives the better.

Illegals - Enforce the laws, welcome ALL legal non citizens.  MANY of us may have been illegal... before the rule of law!

Gun Ownership - we have the the right to own guns as again proven June 26, 2008!   Gun deaths are down in Michigan since passing the right to carry.  There will be terrible events with weapons, but, are we going to outlaw fertilizer too?

Public K-12 Education -  I was educated in private schools and taught in public education.  Help the public sector get better NOT bigger.  Get back to basics K-7.   Sports programs with great options yet we see districts LOWERING grade standards to keep kids IN sports... something wrong with that don't you think?

Community Colleges - let's streamline the Board system statewide and which schools offer what programs with a goal to advance JOBS needed now in IN MICHIGAN such as in medical and technology.

Part time state government - it already is - maybe we should rethink the YEARS per office to slow up money begging and get to work.  State Reps 3/3 year terms, Senate maybe 2/5 year terms, and Governor ONE 5 year term?  CUT the salaries and benefits and lessen what we require lawymakers to do or they will just MAKE work by thinking up more laws.  Someone will ALWAYS think of the next best reason to change something or favor another group.

Health Care  We better start training and planning better and faster for the stress on the system the Baby Boomer's will place on the government and delivery system.  Education to the public on what we are heading for,  and formal education to train for those jobs is needed now IN MICHIGAN FOR MICHIGAN JOBS.  Shift our focus, adjust, plan, or move forward.  Simplifying licensing in the fields, coordinate schools to plan educational programs at all levels, encourage private entities to work toward these goals ... BIG does not mean better in this field.  A common major effort must be done WITH private and public planning.  Encourage private health insurance and long term care plans similar to some other states.   THE HEALTH CARE INDUSTRY HAS NOW REPLACED AUTO AS THE NUMBER ONE EMPLOYER IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR - WAKE UP!

License Law - EVERY license law in this state should be revisited as to WHY it exists, what is needed IF needed, and streamline tighter more enforceable requirements and make them more understandable to the public.  Examples- do we really need barbers going to school for a year?  Do you really need to take 3-12 months to get a liquor license and who really should own them?  Why so many certificates at so many levels for teachers anyway?  Does it really take an equivalent Doctorate to be a Physical Therapist?  Does just showing up for a real estate or insurance continuing education class make you better informed to protect the public good?  Prove to us all this licensing PROTECTS and serves the public.

Corrections & our laws-  major cuts need be done in the department as well as revisiting what IS against the law and what sentences should be.   Look and see what is happening in Arizona with a local Sheriff and how he successully operates his prison and NOT waste money on losers.  What percent are drug violations ... prohibition didn't work and neither are these drug laws.   Why doesn't the State issue a license to practice law?  Why is there NO license to get elected?

State Vendors - must be from Michigan with 100% no illegal’s

Unemployed - able bodied shall be in work programs wherever we have labor shortages such as seasonal ag related businesses.  To be paid BY the private sector with State covering net added travel costs or housing only 

Gambling - revisit ways to expand to other venues AND ownership types BEFORE the rest of the states do it first!
